I loved how Kathie talked Nancy into going to see Lear in the end, they're adorable together. And Con and Len both being exasperated at each other's innocence is great!

Lovely story! I really enjoyed it, especially the way they both made themselves more and more suspicious of each other as a result of their own suspicions :) Thank you.

Very nice! I like how Elizabeth and Betty have kept in touch, and how Betty's reformed. I'm not entirely sure why it couldn't just be kept quiet who Mary's mother was, but I suppose that's Not The Chalet School Way ;) And thinking it over, it wouldn't be terribly fair to make Mary keep secrets either, and would just cause more of a fuss if she tried and it came out anyway - this way she's got Ruey and the Staff keeping an eye out.

I've just re-read the whole story - lovely way to spend an afternoon! :D (Also, I thought I'd commented before but I don't seem to have... huh). Separating the juniors and middles sounds like a good idea, especially with them doing prep in their rooms - I'm glad it seems to have worked.

They seem to have good plans for this inspection, I really hope it goes well... *nibbles fingernails* Sad that they have to hide, but realistic for the time period, and at least they get more freedom than they probably would elsewhere.

Author's Response: Thanks for enjoying it, and spending a whole afternoon on it !! :-)

I am going slightly loopy trying to figure out if I read Willow Farm or not! Having looked at a summary I think probably not, I'm confusing it with a mix of "Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm" and "The Buttercup Farm Family"... Anyway, you do a great job introducing them here. I like how Tamylan gets Rory thinking more positively about the School!

Author's Response: Thank you. Glad it works out ok ! :-) I don't know those ones, probably similar to Willow and Cherry Tree farm I'd guess. :-)

Glad to see the new dorms are working well, even if they do have prank wars (which sound quite fun actually :D ). And Jenks taking well to responsibility, of course... It does seem a little unfair that the junior boys can refurnish their room because they have a prince among them, but at the same time I suppose it would be rather mean to tell Lonny he can't buy them anything - perhaps there should be some midpoint where he can buy things but has a reasonable spending limit?

Eeeek! Cliff! Poor Rosie! This secret trapdoor seems familiar, would I be right in remembering it from Famous Five? If so I hope Anne mentioned it in some family story so she can get out...

Author's Response: It's a very Enid Blyton type of trap door, but it isn't one that the Kirrens know about sadly! That's true I guess, hadn't thought of it that way! I think the girls like their room too so it's ok.

I wound up here thanks to the "random story" feature, and can only wonder why on earth I hadn't read this before! I loved the crossover, especially seeing a younger Miss Grayling.

*snort* Is Hilda gonig to survive this walking holiday?

I love the desrciptions at the beginning. I'm intrigued by the woman in red coat - especially given the title.

I like Nicholas and Felix already! I'd be tempted to strangle Felix too, I think ;)

Reviewer: Elennare Signed

Even in text I feel a strong urge to strangle Miss Brandon - poor Hilda and Nell! I suspect Nell might actually strangle her, or at least tell her very plainly how much they don't appreciate her company, though Hilda is trying to restrain her... If they're lucky she might leave them alone and go off after Alejandro instead, and if she doesn't at least they have Felix and Nicholas as reinforcements. I think they'll get on considerably better (loved Nell lecturing Felix about grammar!).

This is jolly useful, thanks! But please help me, what book is Guy Seymour from? I can't track him down!

Author's Response: It's because he's got a different surname in different books I think. He's called Guy Raynor or something like that in some but I'm pretty sure he was Seymour in my book. He is one of the twins that are interested in archaeology, The Famous Five meet them when they take Timmy out camping as people laughed at him in his protective collar. Anne and he have a little bit there that made me think it was possible they might end up together later down the line. Can't remember the book name at the moment. :-) he's a very minor character anyway !

Having a separate email seems a good idea; in fact, I'm almost surprised she didn't already have one. And hmm at 'yours in friendship'... Google suggests it's a fairly common way of signing off, but it stood out to me for some reason.
