2. Now and Then by Beecharmer [Reviews - 0] (662 words)
Now and Then (Link is for the song, not the video and to get the sense of the music, youndon!t need to watch / know it. Most others are less obscure!
3. Hey Mamma by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (1445 words)
The language here is obviously American, and I couldn't see Joey saying the bits towards the end in those words, but the majority of the song works, so maybe just take it that she is joking / mimicking talk she's heard that day.
Hey Mamma, Hairspray Musical
4. Knock three times by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (1163 words)
I had the big problem whenever writing about Jack Lambert and Jack Maynard, where it can get very confusing quickly. So Jack gets a name change throughout most of the story, to Jacky.
Knock three times, Tony Orlando & Dawn
9. Starlight Express by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (704 words)
Now this could seem a leap, but weirdly this song has been the one that has been the most consistent earworm trying to get me to write this story. I could just see Stephen being attracted by the combination of the physical and practical of the trains, and the reassurance of being looked after that the song also has. I could also see Reg being a big part of the children's lives when they visit the holiday cottage and when visiting them, and being like a big brother to them. You can imagine the scene how you like, I have given possible examples of who might be singing when, but it probably would be a mixture of voices in harmony from both present day and flashback scene.
10. Dancing on the beach by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (1096 words)
Sorry for delay, I had some change to make in the story, so needed to pause in case the earlier bits needed to be adjusted.
This is one where the video actually fits reasonably well.
On the Beach - Cliff Richard & The Shadows, Wonderful Life
11. Does your Mother know? by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (564 words)
Sorry for the delay, I have the whole story pretty much sorted, but had a few bits next few updates that needed rearranging, then life took over !
The original of this song is Abba, but it's this version from Mamma Mia that I am thinking of with the scene being played. The video in this case is quite accurate for the scene and may be worth watching if you haven't seen the film version of Mamma Mia.
Does your mother know - Mamma Mia Musical
12. I've had the time of my life (and a Chalet rescue) by Beecharmer [Reviews - 2] (1137 words)
Bit of melodrama and rescuing, and then soppiness...
I've had the time of my life
14. Can you feel the Love tonight? by Beecharmer [Reviews - 2] (1124 words)
Apologies for such a long delay. The whole story is written, so this won't be another of the beecharmer drabbles destined to sit forever on a cliff hanger! Real life got very firmly in the way, and I didn't feel up to editing or posting till now. Thank you all for reviewing. It does make quite a difference even if it's just a 'Thank you', or an 'Oh Dear what will happen!' It feels quite lonely sometimes writing and posting, but when I know other people are reading and hopefully enjoying it it becomes fun again and more interactive. Or if someone doesn't like something it can be good feedback too.
A different interpretation of this song from the film, but it's one I feel works in either interpretation if you take the side comments from Timon and Pumba out that show it as romantic more.
In context, the timing of the musical is a hot summer on the Platz, so I'm taking it that such a large party was always intending to sleep outside on mattresses or hammocks, not that they've all fallen asleep randomly on the grass!!
Can you feel the love tonight.
15. You're timeless to me by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (879 words)
There are a few American bits in this that Jack or Joey wouldn't probably say, but apart from that I've thought of Jack and Joey a few times before when heard this song.
This on is based on
'You're timeless to me' Hairspray the Musical
16. Who will buy? by Beecharmer [Reviews - 2] (1523 words)
Thank you for the comments on the last couple of updates. I love the idea of Jack and Joey when I hear the song from the previous update to this, even the bald spot joke fits in !
Sorry to be so erratic with posting, life has been very random recently, so after two updates close together early last week, then ended up being ages before the next one.
This wasn't part of the orginal story I wrote but it ran into my head as a earworm, and wouldn't let me leave it out. It's from Oliver and I'm thinking of the film version when I hear it, though the size of the Platz means it would be quite a lot less people doing the dances !
17. Daydream Believer by Beecharmer [Reviews - 0] (561 words)
Back to a less stressful couple! Bet everyone can guess from the song title who this update is about !
Daydream believer The Monkees
18. Benny Hill chase tune by Beecharmer [Reviews - 3] (673 words)
Another short update, I hadn't realised how sort these two were, I could have combined the Daydream believer one and this one really. Benny Hill Theme song chase scene (video is a tribute one)
20. Lover du Jour by Beecharmer [Reviews - 1] (610 words)
This is a silly song, but thought it would be fun here. Lover du Jour - Dolly Parton Blue Smoke
Sorry for delay, this story was all written ages ago, with a few amendments, but life keeps getting hugely in the way for checking and posting.
