Was intrigued by the first chapter and had no idea who the violinist was. Lovely to see Tamara and looking forward to seeing her at the CS.

Hooray! A School by the River crossover! I look forward to reading more of this, already I'm intrigued and wanting to know what happens...

Thanks for writing this,

Anna

Aha, so my "School by the River" guess was correct - I must admit I'd forgotten that Tamara Helston had red hair though!  It's ages since I read the book, must re-read it soon.  Hadn't made the connection to "Fidelity", although the name rang a bell.  Both Ben and Edwina sound like intriguing people.  I wonder whether Ben will eventually take the plunge and be able to retrain himself to play his cello left-handed.

Does anyone else remember the pianist Cyril Smith, who lost the use of one arm after a stroke and his subsequent one-handed performances with his wife Phyllis Sellick playing a second piano, or her memoir, aptly called "Duet for Three Hands" or am I really showing my age?

Thanks, Chattie - I look forward to reading about Tamara's experiences at the Chalet School, also, I hope, more about Edwina and Ben.

Ooooh!  Not read School by the River for years.  Poor Ben, hope he can manage to continue to play music even after losing 3 fingers.  Like his sister too.  Looking forward to more...

Thanks Chattie :-D

EBD's Fidelity is in the La Rochelle series - a very minor character. However I do now recognise Tamara - look forward to seeing her at the CS, can't remember who - if anyone- was teaching violin at the time. I liked her and Jennifer, wished EBD had written more about them.

I am really enjoying this already, having read the first two chapters in one go.

Looking forward to more.

Intriguing! I know who Fidelity is in a non-CS EBD, but no idea if she had a sister.  Look forward to more soon!

Author's Response: That's a new one on me, ivohenry as I can't think of an EBD Fidelity (though I've not read many of the non-CS books) - barking up the wrong tree, I'm afraid!

A very intriguing beginning.  I have a feeling I may know the non-CS EBD book, though not coming up with the name of a red-headed violinist.  I'll be very interested to see where the other crossover takes us, too - and to see if my guess is correct.

Thanks, Chattie, will look forward to more of this.

Well, I'm intrigued!  Please don't leave them under the air raid too  long, I want to know who Ben's companion is...

Thanks Chattie :-D

Thank you.  I look forward to seeing more of this.

Author's Response: Hopefully more tomorrow, though I don't promise that subsequent updates will be quite so frequent!

Brilliant beginning. I am racking my brain to think of red-headed violinists....

Author's Response: Ah, well at the moment you need to know of one of EBD's non-CS books. But the main crossover will only become apparent when the story gets beyond the Prologue to Chapter 1...
